Make Avery place cards from Excel

If your guest list already lives in Excel or Google Sheets, do not type names onto Avery cards one by one. Keep the list structured, upload it once, and export a PDF that matches the Avery product number on your package.

Spreadsheet format

Keep one guest per row. The two useful columns are Name and Table. Table can be a number, a word, or a room name.

From Excel to Avery PDF

  1. 1. Create a spreadsheet with one guest per row.
  2. 2. Use a Name column for the printed guest name.
  3. 3. Add a Table column if you want table numbers or table names on the cards.
  4. 4. Upload the Excel or CSV file in Imprintly, or paste the rows directly.
  5. 5. Choose the Avery product number that matches your package.
  6. 6. Preview the cards and download a PDF laid out for that Avery sheet.

Use the product number

Avery 5302, 5371, 16109, and L7163 each use a different sheet layout. Match the number on your package before downloading.

Use your own artwork

If you have a Canva or stationer design, upload it as the background, then add names and table numbers from the spreadsheet.

Common Excel questions

Can I upload an Excel file for Avery place cards?

Yes. Imprintly accepts spreadsheet-style guest lists and turns the Name and Table columns into printable cards.

Do table numbers print on the Avery cards?

Yes. Add a Table column, such as Table 1, Head Table, or Garden Room. It appears as the smaller line under the guest name.

What if some names are long?

The card text is auto-sized so longer names fit the card instead of overflowing across the edge.

Can I use my own Canva design with an Excel list?

Yes. Upload your card artwork as the background, then upload or paste the guest list and export it on the Avery layout.
